Strong Cesàro summability

Summary

Strong Cesàro summability asks that the partial sums of a series stay close to a value ss on average, measured by the mean of ∣sk−s∣q\abs{s_k - s}^q. Ordinary Cesàro summation only asks that the mean of sk−ss_k - s tends to 00, which allows positive and negative deviations to cancel. For exponent q≥1q \ge 1, strong Cesàro summability implies Cesàro summability to the same value. It is used in the theory of Fourier series and is closely tied to statistical convergence.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
