Sweedler notation

Summary

Sweedler notation is a shorthand for the comultiplication of a coalgebra: one writes Δ(c)=∑c(1)⊗c(2)\Delta(c) = \sum c_{(1)} \otimes c_{(2)}, or even c(1)⊗c(2)c_{(1)} \otimes c_{(2)}, without naming the terms of the sum. Coassociativity lets one write iterated coproducts as c(1)⊗c(2)⊗c(3)c_{(1)} \otimes c_{(2)} \otimes c_{(3)} without brackets. It is named after Moss Sweedler and is the standard notation for computations with Hopf algebras and comodules.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
