Tensor product of Hilbert spaces

Summary

The tensor product of two Hilbert spaces is the completion of their algebraic tensor product. Its inner product multiplies the inner products of the factors. It is again a Hilbert space, and products of orthonormal basis vectors form an orthonormal basis of it. In quantum mechanics it describes a system made of two subsystems. In analysis, L2(X)⊗^L2(Y)L^2(X) \mathbin{\widehat{\otimes}} L^2(Y) is L2(X×Y)L^2(X \times Y).

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
