Zero ring

Example

The zero ring is the set {0}\{0\} with the operations 0+0=00 + 0 = 0 and 0⋅0=00 \cdot 0 = 0. It is a commutative ring in which 1=01 = 0.

Remarks

A ring RR is the zero ring if and only if 1=01 = 0 in RR. If 1=01 = 0, then a=a⋅1=a⋅0=0a = a \cdot 1 = a \cdot 0 = 0 for each a∈Ra \in R. The zero ring is not an integral domain and not a field, because these definitions require 1≠01 \neq 0.

Explanations

L1 human

The zero ring has only one element. All the axioms of a ring hold, but in a trivial way. It is the only ring in which 11 and 00 are the same element.

What this node needs for W3
  • a person confirmed each agent-written section: rule P04 (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What this needs

To read this node, read these 3 nodes in this order. The foundations come first, and the list ends with this node.

Each node uses the nodes above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows the evidence level, and the box also gives it as text. The list below has the same nodes.
