Classical Heisenberg model
Builds on GraphBoltzmann distribution
Example
Let be a finite graph, let be a coupling constant and let be the inverse temperature. A configuration assigns to each vertex a unit vector of , that is, a point of the sphere . Its energy is The classical Heisenberg model on is the probability measure on with density with respect to the product of the uniform measures. Here is the normalizing constant. For the model is ferromagnetic and for it is antiferromagnetic.
Remarks
The energy is invariant under every rotation of applied to all spins at once, so the model has symmetry. It is the case of the n-vector model. It is the classical limit of the quantum Heisenberg model, where the spins are operators. On the Mermin–Wagner theorem shows that there is no spontaneous magnetization at any positive temperature. On with , the infrared bounds of Fröhlich, Simon and Spencer show long-range order at low temperature.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
