Fluid mechanics Foundations and kinematics of flow Concept
Fluid mechanics
Summary
Fluid mechanics is the study of liquids, gases and plasmas and of the forces that act on them. It models a fluid as a continuum, described by fields such as density, velocity and pressure. It splits into fluid statics, for fluids at rest, and fluid dynamics, for fluids in motion. Its equations, such as the Navier–Stokes equations, are a major source of partial differential equations.
