Example
The generalized Maxwell model, also called the Maxwell–Wiechert model, is a spring of modulus in parallel with Maxwell material arms. Arm has a spring of modulus and a dashpot of viscosity , and relaxation time . In parallel the strain is common and the stresses add. Under a strain step , arm carries the stress and the lone spring carries . So the relaxation modulus is which is a Prony series when the are distinct.
Remarks
For it is the standard linear solid, and for and it is the Maxwell material. Conversely every Prony series with positive coefficients is the relaxation modulus of such a model, which is why measured relaxation data are fitted by it.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
