Genus of a curve
Summary
The genus of a smooth projective connected curve is the dimension of its space of regular differential -forms. It is the main invariant of a curve. Curves of genus are conics, and curves of genus with a rational point are elliptic curves. Curves of genus at least have finitely many automorphisms. Over it equals the topological genus of the associated compact Riemann surface, the number of handles. For a singular curve, one takes the genus of its normalization, called the geometric genus.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
