Group homology

Summary

Group homology attaches to a group GG and a GG-module MM a sequence of abelian groups Hn(G,M)H_n(G, M), for n≥0n \ge 0. It is defined with the Tor functors over the group ring ℤ[G]\Z[G], and it is dual to group cohomology. In low degrees it has concrete meaning: H1(G,ℤ)H_1(G, \Z) is the abelianization of GG, and H2(G,ℤ)H_2(G, \Z) is given by Hopf's formula. Topologically, Hn(G,ℤ)H_n(G, \Z) is the singular homology of a classifying space of GG.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
