Commutative algebra Completion and topological rings Concept

I-adic topology

Summary

Let MM be a module over a commutative ring RR, and let II be an ideal of RR. In the II-adic topology on MM, the submodules InMI^n M form a base of neighbourhoods of 00. Two elements are close when their difference lies in a high power of II. It is the topology behind the completion of a ring, and the pp-adic topology on ℤ\Z is the main example.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
