Induced representation of a locally compact group
Summary
Unitary induction builds a unitary representation of a locally compact group from a unitary representation of a closed subgroup . The new space consists of square-integrable vector-valued functions on that transform under by the given representation, and acts by translation. It extends the induced representation of finite groups to subgroups of infinite index, such as lattices and parabolic subgroups. Mackey's theory of induced representations uses it to build and classify irreducible representations, for example the principal series of semisimple Lie groups.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
