statement theorem
Ore's theorem
Statement
Let be a finite simple graph with vertices. Suppose that for any two distinct vertices and that are not adjacent. Then is Hamiltonian.
Remarks
Dirac's theorem is a special case. The Bondy–Chvátal theorem of 1976 extends it. It says that is Hamiltonian if and only if its closure is Hamiltonian. The closure comes from when you add edges with again and again.
History
Øystein Ore proved the theorem in 1960.
Explanations
L1 human
Ore's theorem looks only at pairs of vertices that are not neighbours. If each such pair has many edges together, the graph has a round trip through all vertices.
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
