Trail

Definition

Let GG be a graph. A trail in GG is a walk (w0,w1,…,wk)(w_0, w_1, \dots, w_k) whose edges w0w1,w1w2,…,wk−1wkw_0 w_1, w_1 w_2, \dots, w_{k-1} w_k are pairwise distinct.

Remarks

A trail may visit a vertex more than once, but it uses each edge at most once. Every path is a trail. In the graph of two triangles that share a vertex cc, the closed walk a,b,c,d,e,c,aa, b, c, d, e, c, a is a trail but not a path. An Eulerian trail is a trail that uses every edge.

Explanations

L1 human

A trail is a walk that never uses the same edge twice. It is the kind of route that you draw without lifting your pen and without retracing a line.

What this node needs for W1
  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.

What this needs

To read this node, read these 3 nodes in this order. The foundations come first, and the list ends with this node.

Each node uses the nodes above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows the evidence level, and the box also gives it as text. The list below has the same nodes.

  2. Walk definition
  3. Trail definition

What depends on this

24 nodes use this node, directly or through other nodes.
