Schrödinger picture
Summary
The Schrödinger picture is the way of describing quantum dynamics in which state vectors change in time and observables stay fixed. A state vector evolves by , where is the Hamiltonian, so it solves the Schrödinger equation. It gives the same expectation values as the Heisenberg picture, where the observables move instead. It is the natural picture for wave functions and for solving the Schrödinger equation as a partial differential equation.
