Steady-state heat conduction
Summary
Steady-state heat conduction is conduction in which the temperature at every point no longer changes in time. Then the heat equation reduces to Laplace's equation, or to Poisson's equation when heat is produced inside the body. It describes walls, pipes and machine parts long after the conditions around them have become constant.
