Torque
Summary
The torque of a force about a point measures how strongly the force tends to turn a body about that point. It is the cross product of the position of the point where the force acts, relative to the reference point, with the force. The rate of change of angular momentum equals the total torque, just as the rate of change of momentum equals the total force. Torque is also called the moment of a force.
