Weyl group of a compact Lie group

Summary

Let GG be a compact connected Lie group with maximal torus TT. Its Weyl group is the finite group NG(T)/TN_G(T)/T, where NG(T)N_G(T) is the normaliser of TT. It acts on TT by conjugation and records how elements of TT can be conjugate in GG. It is isomorphic to the Weyl group of the root system of GG, which is generated by reflections. It appears in the Weyl integration and character formulas.
