Mechanics of deformable solids Linear elasticity Concept
Young's modulus
Summary
Young's modulus measures the stiffness of a material in tension or compression along one axis. It is the ratio of axial stress to axial strain in a bar pulled along its length with free sides. It is the most common elastic constant in engineering, and together with Poisson's ratio it determines an isotropic linear elastic material.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
