Quantum theory Entanglement Example
Bell state
Example
Let be the standard basis of , and write in . The four Bell states are They are unit vectors and pairwise orthogonal, so they form an orthonormal basis of , the Bell basis. Each of them is entangled. For , the coefficient matrix in the standard basis is , which has rank , so it is not a product vector. The same holds for the other three, whose coefficient matrices are also invertible.
Remarks
The partial trace of over either factor is . So each qubit alone is maximally mixed, while the pair is in a pure state: the Bell states are maximally entangled. The state is the singlet; it is the unique state, up to a phase, with for every unitary on .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
