Convective heat transfer
Summary
Convective heat transfer is the transport of heat by a moving fluid, through the combined action of bulk flow and conduction. It governs heat exchange between a solid surface and a gas or liquid flowing past it. It is forced when a pump, fan or wind drives the flow, and natural when buoyancy from temperature differences drives it. Engineers summarize it by a heat transfer coefficient and the Nusselt number.
