Nusselt number

Summary

The Nusselt number Nu=hL/k\mathrm{Nu} = h L / k is the dimensionless number that measures how much convection improves heat transfer over pure conduction through a fluid layer. Here hh is the heat transfer coefficient and kk is the conductivity of the fluid. Results on convection are usually stated as formulas for Nu\mathrm{Nu} in terms of the Reynolds, Prandtl, Grashof or Rayleigh numbers. The Dittus–Boelter equation is one such formula.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
