Eilenberg–MacLane space

Summary

An Eilenberg–MacLane space K(G,n)K(G, n) is a path-connected space whose only nonzero homotopy group is GG in degree nn. Such spaces exist for every group GG when n=1n = 1 and every abelian group GG when n≥2n \ge 2, and they are unique up to weak homotopy equivalence. They are the building blocks of all spaces in the sense of Postnikov towers. They represent ordinary cohomology: for an abelian group GG and a CW complex XX, Hn(X;G)H^n(X; G) is the set of homotopy classes of maps X→K(G,n)X \to K(G, n).

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
