Idele class group

Summary

The idele class group of a number field KK is the quotient CK=IK/K×C_K = I_K / K^\times of the idele group IKI_K by the nonzero elements of KK. The idele group IKI_K is the group of units of the adele ring of KK, with its own restricted product topology. In class field theory, the Artin reciprocity map goes from CKC_K onto the Galois group of the maximal abelian extension of KK. The finite abelian extensions of KK then match the open subgroups of finite index of CKC_K.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
