Lorentz transformation
Summary
A Lorentz transformation is a linear map of Minkowski space that preserves the Minkowski metric. In physics it converts the coordinates of an event in one inertial frame into its coordinates in another frame moving uniformly relative to the first. Lorentz transformations form the Lorentz group, the symmetry group of special relativity at a fixed origin.
