Mooney–Rivlin solid
Builds on Strain energy density functionCauchy–Green deformation tensor
Example
The incompressible Mooney–Rivlin solid is the hyperelastic material with strain energy density function subject to . Here is the deformation gradient, is the right Cauchy–Green tensor, and , and are material constants. Check that it is hyperelastic: is a differentiable function of through , so the stress is defined by a stored energy. At one has , so . Linearising at gives the shear modulus . With it reduces to the neo-Hookean solid. In terms of the principal stretches, and, when , .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
