Functions of a complex variable Entire and meromorphic functions Concept

Nevanlinna characteristic

Summary

The Nevanlinna characteristic T(r,f)T(r, f) of a meromorphic function ff on ℂ\C measures its growth on the disc of radius rr. It adds a term for the size of ff on the circle ∣z∣=r\abs{z} = r and a term that counts the poles inside. For entire functions it plays the role of log⁡M(r)\log M(r), and for meromorphic functions it replaces the degree of a rational function. It is the central quantity of Nevanlinna theory.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
