Definition
Let , let be an open set, and let . For a function whose gradient is regular enough, the -Laplacian of is where is the divergence. Let be in the Sobolev space . The equation holds in the weak sense if for every smooth function with compact support in . Such a is called -harmonic.
Remarks
For , is the Laplacian. Example: on with , the function is -harmonic. Indeed, for with , the field is radial with size , and its divergence vanishes when is constant, that is, when . Non-example: for , the function is not -harmonic, since has divergence for . The weak form is the Euler–Lagrange equation of . Some authors call the -Laplacian.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
