Example
Let be an integer, let be a finite graph, and let and . A configuration is a map , and its energy is where is if and otherwise. The -state Potts model is the probability measure on proportional to ; it is ferromagnetic when . It is a lattice model with and pair interaction .
Check for : write the two states as ; then . So , which is the Ising model with coupling up to an additive constant that does not change the measure.
Remarks
On the square lattice with , the critical point is given by , the self-dual point of Kramers–Wannier duality. Beffara and Duminil-Copin proved this for all in the random cluster representation. For this gives , the Onsager value for an Ising coupling . On the transition is continuous for and discontinuous for . The model is closely tied to the Fortuin–Kasteleyn random cluster model, and as with it counts proper -colourings of .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
