Simplicial object

Summary

A simplicial object in a category 𝒞\mathcal{C} is a contravariant functor from the simplex category to 𝒞\mathcal{C}. It is a sequence of objects X0,X1,X2,…X_0, X_1, X_2, \dots of 𝒞\mathcal{C} with face and degeneracy maps between them that obey the simplicial identities. In 𝒞=𝐒𝐞𝐭\mathcal{C} = \mathbf{Set} these are the simplicial sets, and in abelian groups they are the simplicial abelian groups of the Dold–Kan correspondence. They let one do homotopy theory with objects of 𝒞\mathcal{C}.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
