Von Neumann entropy
Summary
The von Neumann entropy of a density matrix is , the Shannon entropy of the eigenvalues of . It measures how mixed a quantum state is: it vanishes exactly on pure states and is largest for the maximally mixed state. It is the quantum analogue of Shannon entropy and the basic quantity of quantum information theory. For a pure bipartite state, the entropy of either reduced state measures its entanglement.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
