Elasticity tensor
Summary
The elasticity tensor, or stiffness tensor, is the fourth-order tensor that maps the strain tensor to the Cauchy stress tensor in a linear elastic material. It encodes all the elastic properties of the material, including its anisotropy. Its symmetries reduce its components to at most independent ones, and material symmetry reduces the number further, down to for isotropic materials.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
