Galilean transformation
Builds on Inertial frame of reference
Summary
A Galilean transformation is a change of coordinates between two inertial frames in Newtonian mechanics. It combines a shift of time, a shift and a rotation of space, and a uniform motion of one frame relative to the other. Galilean transformations form a group, the Galilean group, which is the symmetry group of Newtonian space and time. They preserve time differences and the distances between simultaneous events.
