Summary
A surface is a topological manifold of dimension : a space that looks like a piece of the plane near each of its points. Spheres, tori, the Möbius strip and the Klein bottle are surfaces. Closed surfaces are completely classified by orientability and Euler characteristic, see the classification of surfaces. Surfaces are the first nontrivial case of manifold topology and appear throughout geometry, complex analysis and dynamics.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
