Rational function
Definition
Let and be real polynomials, with not the zero polynomial. Let . The function given by is a rational function.
Remarks
A nonzero polynomial has only finitely many roots, so is minus a finite set. Each rational function is continuous on , since polynomials are continuous and quotients of continuous functions are continuous. For example, and are rational functions.
Explanations
L1 human
A rational function is a quotient of two polynomials. It is defined everywhere except at the zeros of the denominator.
What this node needs for W2
- edge instance_of in: one example (0 of 1)
- edge not_instance_of in: one non-example that fails one clause (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
