Shanks transformation
Builds on SequenceDeterminantSeries acceleration
Definition
Let be a sequence of real or complex numbers, and write . For , the Shanks transformation of is defined when the denominator is not . More generally, let and . The transformation of order is the quotient of two determinants: For , row of each determinant is . The denominator must not be . Thus .
Remarks
Check of : the numerator is and the denominator is . Example: for the partial sums , , of the Leibniz series, . Non-example: for an arithmetic sequence such as the denominator is , so is not defined. Up to a shift of index, is Aitken's delta-squared process: . The transformation can be iterated, as in ; this is different from in general.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
