Multilinear map
Definition
Let be a field, let , and let and be vector spaces over . A map is multilinear when it is linear in each variable separately. That is, for each and each fixed choice of for , the map is a linear map .
Remarks
For , a multilinear map is a linear map, and for it is a bilinear map. The dot product on and the matrix product are bilinear. The determinant is multilinear in the columns of a matrix. A multilinear map is in general not linear on the product space: for a bilinear .
Explanations
L1 human
A multilinear map takes several vectors and is linear in each one, while the others stay fixed. The product of two real numbers is a simple example: it is linear in and linear in . It is not linear in the pair .
What this node needs for W2
- edge instance_of in: one example (0 of 1)
- edge not_instance_of in: one non-example that fails one clause (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
