Disk algebra
Definition
Let be the open unit disc and its closure. The disk algebra is the set of functions such that
- is continuous on , and
- the restriction of to is holomorphic,
with pointwise addition and multiplication and the norm .
Remarks
is a closed subalgebra of , hence a commutative Banach algebra with unit. By the maximum modulus principle, the norm equals , so may also be viewed as an algebra of functions on the circle. The polynomials are dense: uniformly as , and each is the uniform limit of its Taylor polynomials on . The maximal ideals of are the sets for .
Example: . The terms are bounded by on , so the series converges uniformly there; hence is continuous on and holomorphic in .
Non-example: is bounded and holomorphic in , but it has no continuous extension to . Its radial limit at is , while its radial limits at the points have modulus , so no continuous extension to exists.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
