Bounded sequences ℓ∞
Builds on Bounded sequenceSequence spaces lpBanach spaceSeparable space
Example
Let be the set of bounded sequences of real (or complex) numbers, with the norm . Then is a sequence space and a Banach space; this is the case of the spaces ℓ^p.
Check of completeness: let be a Cauchy sequence in . For each , , so is a Cauchy sequence of numbers with a limit . Given , choose with for . Letting gives for all and all . So is bounded and in norm.
Remarks
The space is not separable. The sequences with all terms in form an uncountable set, and any two of them are at distance . So the open balls of radius around them are disjoint, and no countable set meets all of them. The spaces of convergent sequences and of null sequences are closed subspaces of . The space is isometrically isomorphic to the dual of .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
