Space of convergent sequences
Builds on Convergent sequenceBounded sequences ℓ∞Banach spaceCauchy sequence
Example
Let be the set of convergent sequences of real (or complex) numbers, with the norm . Then is a sequence space and a Banach space.
Check that is a sequence space: the sum of two convergent sequences converges, and so does a scalar multiple of a convergent sequence.
Check that is complete: convergent sequences are bounded, so is a subspace of the Banach space of bounded sequences. So it suffices to show that is closed in . Let with for some . For all and , Choose to make the first term small, then use that is a Cauchy sequence. So is a Cauchy sequence of numbers, hence convergent, and .
Remarks
The map is a linear functional on with , so it is continuous. Its kernel is the space of null sequences .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
