Magnetic field
Summary
The magnetic field is the vector field that describes the force on moving electric charges, beyond the force of the electric field. The force is perpendicular both to the velocity of the charge and to the field. Magnetic fields are produced by electric currents and by magnetic materials. Together with the electric field, is one of the two unknowns of Maxwell's equations.
