statement theorem
Power series are holomorphic in the disc of convergence
Statement
Let be a power series with radius of convergence , and let be its disc of convergence. Let for . Then is holomorphic on , and for each , The series for has the same radius of convergence .
Remarks
By induction, has complex derivatives of all orders on , and . So the power series is the Taylor series of at . For example, the complex exponential has , so it is entire. The converse is also true: holomorphic functions are analytic.
Explanations
L1 human
Inside its disc of convergence, a power series can be differentiated term by term, like a polynomial. The result is again a power series with the same disc, so you can do it again and again.
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
