Order of a pole
Definition
Let be a pole of . The order of the pole is the unique integer with the following property. On some punctured disc , where is holomorphic on the disc and . A pole of order is a simple pole.
Remarks
The order of the pole of at is the order of the zero of at . In the Laurent series of at , the order is if and only if and for each . Many authors give a pole of order the signed order . Then zeros have positive order and poles have negative order. For example, has a pole of order at each point with .
Explanations
L1 human
The order of a pole says how fast the function goes to infinity at the point. Near a pole of order , the function behaves like a constant times .
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
