Thermodynamic system

Summary

A thermodynamic system is the part of the physical world that one chooses to study in thermodynamics. It is separated from the rest, its surroundings, by a boundary made of walls. The kind of walls fixes what the system can exchange with its surroundings, and this gives the classes of isolated, closed and open systems.
