statement theorem
Second Sylow theorem
Statement
Let be a finite group and let be a prime number. Then any two Sylow p-subgroups and of are conjugate: there is a with . Moreover, each -subgroup of is contained in some Sylow -subgroup of .
Remarks
So all Sylow -subgroups of are isomorphic. A Sylow -subgroup is normal in if and only if . The proof lets a -subgroup act on the left cosets of and uses the fixed point lemma.
Explanations
L1 human
The Sylow -subgroups of a group can look different as subsets. But each one can be moved onto each other one by a conjugation. So, up to a renaming, there is only one Sylow -subgroup.
What this node needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a node is. They do not measure its truth.
