Thermodynamic temperature
Summary
Thermodynamic temperature is the absolute temperature scale defined from the second law of thermodynamics, independent of any thermometric material. For ordinary systems it is positive, its zero is absolute zero, and its unit is the kelvin. It is the temperature that appears in the formula and in the efficiency of the Carnot engine.
