Proof that a set is closed if and only if it equals its closure
Builds on Topological spaceClosed setClosureClosure is the smallest closed superset
Proof
- Let be a topological space, let , and let be the closure of .
- By closure is the smallest closed superset, we have , and is closed.
- Suppose that is closed. Then is a closed set with .
- By the same result, . With step 2, .
- Conversely, suppose that . By step 2, is closed, so is closed.
Idea
The closure always contains and is always closed. If is already closed, it is one of the closed sets the closure must fit inside. So the two sets agree.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
